WEST
Glaswegian locals are glad to have WEST: it's a brewery, pub and restaurant all in one, serving hearty German and Scottish food. The star attraction is the large beer garden, perfect for enjoying the Scottish brewed Bavarian style beers or some of the local brews on a sunny afternoon. In the colder months, the action moves indoors; WEST is housed in an old carpet factory and the wooden floors and high ceilings give it the air of a German bier hall. Aside from touring the brewery and sampling the beer, customers can enjoy dining from a menu full of satisfying Bavarian dishes like Wiener schnitzel, wurst and sauerkraut and spätzle. There are also plenty of Scottish alternatives, like rib eye steak, or home cured beetroot with Shetland salmon. Free parking is a definite draw card, although you might be better off with the handy hop on hop off buses if you want to sample all the beer options!
